As part of the Electricity Balancing Guidelines (EBGL), which aims to establish a pan-European market for Balancing Energy, Replacement Reserve was created to be used across participating TSOs. Replacement Reserve is a coordinated service across participating European Transmission System Operators (TSOs) which delivers a supply of both an increase and decrease of active power.

To participate in the Replacement Reserve, a Party must registered under the Balancing and Settlement Code (BSC) as a Generator, Supplier or Virtual Lead Party. You are also able to contact the Market Entry team at Elexon for further information.
A party will also need to be party to the Connection Use and System Code (CUSC), either as a Generator, Supplier or Virtual Lead Party.
