Use of unused BSC provisions consultation
ELEXON would like to understand current industry views on certain unused or redundant provisions in the BSC. We are interested in views on whether some or all of the obligations mentioned in this consultation should remain in the BSC.
The consideration to remove unused provisions came about as part of our continued focus on the efficiency of the Code, as well as through our preparations for the Foundation Programme.
The consultation is to discover industry opinion on removing unused or expired provisions from the BSC.

Code Administration Code of Practice (CACoP) Annual Review
As part of the Energy Codes Governance Review, concluded in December 2010, Ofgem proposed that Code Administrators set up a Code of Practice to facilitate transparency in Code Modification processes and help protect the interests of small market participants and consumers through various means. The CACOP puts forwards principles for Code Administrators to follow, but also sets out principles applicable to a Code Modification process.
Principle 4 of the CACOP states that ‘This Code of Practice will be reviewed periodically and subject to amendment by Users’. As part of this annual review process, we invite your views on the CACOP to feed back to the annual Code Administration Review meeting in October 2014.
